We were delighted when Nottinghamshire Live featured our tutor, Jaclyn Olaniyan, who studied for her A Levels at Bilborough Sixth Form College, has returned to her secondary school, Nottingham University Samworth Academy, to provide valuable English, Maths, and Science tuition.

It’s hard to believe that this year’s tutor cohort only has five months left in the role before they move onto their next stage in life, be it university or the work place. So, with only five months to go before we wave goodbye to our class of 2020/2021 and say hello to 2021/2022, we’d better get cracking with our recruitment drive. And cracking we are! Even though it’s February, we are in full swing with our 6th form and college presentations, receiving applications, and interviewing. And, dare I say it, issuing our first contracts!

With the summer’s exam resits an especially hot topic this year, Yipiyap recently received a write-up for our GCSE maths and English resit tuition in the Times Education Supplement.

The effects of Covid-19 have been felt all over the world and are impacting massively on the way we all now live. The decision to close schools to all but the children of key workers or the vulnerable in order to reduce contact and save lives has inevitably caused severe disruption.

Receiving an email regarding the Regional Directors’ Training stating that on one of the days we have a 07:00 start where we must bring ‘outdoor clothing and trainers, but also posh shoes’ is bound to baffle anyone!

As summer quickly approaches, it’s again time to provide our tutors with a valuable send-off in advance of their next steps.

After such a great start to the year, Yipiyap tutors are taking a well-deserved break for Christmas. Our annual Christmas meals went down very well last night - thanks to everyone for coming along!
